Sharing our Passion
At the end of September I would like to start a new multi langual Quiltbee, open for everybody, no matter what language you speak. At a quiltbee you will have the possibility to quilt or patch at your own quiltworks. The goal is to meet with other quilters and enjoy our mutual passion.

Starting at wednessday the 28th of September 2011, every 2nd and 4th wednessday of the month
Hours: 09.30 uur till 12.00

Machine Quilting beginners
Beginners workshop a one day class
We will work on a great variaty of machine quilting techniques. There will be made a start in quilting a quilt freehand. You will get a lot of patterns and explanation in how every pattern needs to be quilted. At the end of day everybody will have the feeling in how a quilt can be machine quilted, the main part will be practicing machine quilting. For the theory we will discuss all the materials you can use for machine quilting, like fabrics, batting, markers, needles and your sewing machine. You will be possible to re-read all the theory at home, because everybody will be offered a book with all the theory, information and a lot of tips.

Background fillers
By quilting a background of a quilt, the main patterns, medallions and feathers will stand out much more. That's why there is a special workshop now for quilting backgrounds. During this workshop we will learn how to quilt the selected patterns to show of your future quilts with fabulous backgrounds. We will work on a great variaty of techniques as a follow up for the beginners class. It's also a great class who fits perfectly with freehand feathers or trapunto machine quilting, because these are the kind of quilts which are enriched with these patterns.

Shadow Trapunto
2-days of Machine Trapunto and wholecloth design
This class will learn you more about the possibilities to design a wholecloth including trapunto.
A Trapunto quilt is a quilt which is parts filled up with an extra layer of batting which makes it possible that the quilted pattern
will stand out more. It’s a century old handquilting technique from amoung others Italy and which now is possible to make on machine.
We will make a beautiful design in which every student will go home with it's own designed quilt. This quilt will not be finished, but
you will have the know how to finish it. A very challenging class in which you will be able to increase skills! The trapunto
which is connected to the beginners workshop will be with more easy patterns, but the techniques and theory will be the same. You will
be possible to re-read all the theory at home, because everybody will be offered a book with all the theory, information and a lot of tips.

A workshop for the advanced machine quilter. Our goal of this workshop is to get understanding and the skills to sew this tough feathers
step by step. We will build up from easy forms. It will be a very challenging workshop which will give you loads of possibilities in
quilting your quilt. You will be possible to re-read all the theory at home, because everybody will be offered a book with all the theory,
information and a lot of tips. This workshop is in two levels, beginner feathers and advanced delicate feathers.

A workshop for the advanced machine quilter. Our goal of this workshop is to get understanding how the ultimate delicate feathers are
quilted. This is as a follow up or second day of the feather class level 1. It will be a very challenging workshop which will give you loads of
possibilities in quilting your quilt. You will be possible to re-read all the theory at home, because everybody will be offered a book
with all the theory, information and a lot of tips. This workshop can only be done after joining level 1. Dates can be found at the Holiday page of this website.

Basic Hand Quilting Workshop
A good basic workshop for beginners and advanced quilter
The basic techniques to quilt your quilt the right way with a good result.
The techniques discussed are: Making Divisions, Divisions made in a application block,
Needle tracking, Stippling, Echo Quilting, Ruler use in 45 and 60 degrees, quilt pattern drawing
(without pencil), and tie off and grid quilting.

This workshop for intermediate quilters is to learn the refined way of application.
Many techniques will be covered during this 3-day masterclass. We will work from a basic pattern that holds all the basic
techniques of application, such as round shapes, hollow forms, several sharp points, a circle and an inside corner.
This combined technique of the blind stitch, making your application work even more beautiful. Experience in application is required!

Hand trapunto
An ancient Italian technique where we will work on at a 3 day masterclass.
Trapunto can enrich your quilt or exists as a stand-alone wholecloth. We will work on 3 techniques of hand trapunto step by step.
We discuss all materials that are needed in practice and learn how to properly use them, we will look at the right way to draw your the pattern.
The ability in handquilting is required.
